Dr. Örs Gevrekci is a faculty member of the Department of Psychology at Başkent University (Ankara, Turkey). She obtained her BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey) and her PhD degree in Genetics at University of London (London, UK). In her post-doc studies she worked on the neural basis of neurogenetic disorders, involving structural and functional neuroimaging, and psychophysical tests to measure attention and memory. The courses she thought includes Neuropsychology, Brain and Behavior, Physiology of Behavior and Behavior Genetics.
Dr. Örs Gevrekci is interested in Behavior Genetics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychophysics and Neuroimaging. Currently she is working on the neural, cognitive and genetic basis of physiological and psychological stress and the stress reduction techniques such as mindfulness. She is also interested in the nerobiological basis and functionality of the emotions such as shame and guilt.
