Biography

Dr. Rangasamy Anandham received his B.Sc in Forestry and M.Sc in Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Microbiology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He obtained doctoral degree from Chungbuk National University, Republic of Korea and Post doctoral award from Rural Development Administration, Republic of Korea. During his Masters and Ph.D programme studied the interactions of sulfur oxidizing bacteria between plants and revealed the metabolic pathway operating in these sulfur oxidizing bacteria. He studied extensively interactions plant growth promoting rhizobacteria in crop plants. During post doctoral study, developed various organinc formulations contains and plant growth promoting bacteria and Lactobacillus spp. To promote the plant growth and disease control. Also, studied the development of suitable starter cultures for fermented foods of Southern India. Developed gut bacteria mediated novel pest control methods against several agriculturally important crop pest. Now, actively doing research in cell-cell communications in plant pathogenic bacteria and their control mechanisms through quorum quenching approach and development of suitable bioremediation technologies for azo dyes contaminated site. Extensively studied the molecular bacterial taxonomy of agriculturally important bacteria and actinobacteria.
