Dr Ameet is a fully trained gastrointestinal surgeon working at the Department of Gastrointestinal, Mimimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery, Command Hospital (AF), Bangalore, India. He graduated from the prestigious Government Medical College, Mysore and went on to finish his masters in Surgery from the Armed forces Medical College, Pune and M. Ch. in Gastrointestinal Surgery from the premier institute – All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has a vast experience of managing and operating cases pertaining to all aspects of gastrointestinal surgery and specializes in hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases/surgeries as well as colorectal and esophageal diseases. He has gone on to polish his skills in minimally invasive surgery and does a fair proportion of these surgeries laparoscopically. Apart from this, he has an interest in bariatric and metabolic surgeries. He has inclination towards research with his field of interest being gall bladder cancers and surgery for pancreatic cancers. He has published many articles in both national as well as international journals. His articles have won him awards including the best published article by the Medical Journal Armed Forces India and also the Chief of the Air Staff Award for the best article in surgical disciplines in the year 2015. He has also presented papers in national and international conferences. At present he is a reviewer for 11 journals and on the editorial board of three journals. He is an accomplished teacher and has been involved in teaching for the past 12 years and has been appointed as a subject expert in Surgery by the National Board of Examinations.
