Dr. James L Chen is a Sports Medicine, Knee, and Shoulder surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques. He is Board-Certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine, Shoulder, and Arthroscopy at University of California San Francisco. His residency training was completed at University of Hawaii Queens Medical Center. He earned his Masterís degree at the University of California Berkeley and medical degree from the University of California Davis. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College. Dr. Chen is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF. He is the director of the San Francisco Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a partner at Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Inc. in San Francisco.
