Ester Tellone is a Researcher at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutic and Environmental Sciences-ChiBioFarAm, University of Messina. She has more than 40 peer-reviewed publications related to study of the structural and functional properties of the proteins focusing on human hemoglobin and its metabolic interactions such as band 3 protein. The main interest of her studies is the erythrocyte to use as a model to identify the early-onset of the diseases.
Ester Tellone Research interests are Red blood cells as based model of study to predict the pharmacologic effects of selected molecules with the aim to use erythrocyte as an early disease sensor and/or as an efficient drug delivery. -Band 3 protein study of the protein interaction with deoxyhemoglobin and / or glycolytic enzymes with particular regard at the mechanisms underlying metabolic regulation of the erythrocyte. -Study of the structural and functional properties of the Hemoglobin, comparative aspects. Involvement of the protein in the regulation of human erythrocyte metabolism.
