Carolyn J. Murrock, PhD, RN is a Professor at The University of Akron, School of Nursing. Dr. Murrock earned a BSN and MSN from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, a Master’s in Education in Exercise Physiology from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, and a PhD in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She also completed a T32 Postdoctoral Training Grant titled, “Vulnerable Populations with Multiple Morbidities” at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Murrock has received federal, national, and regional funding for quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods nursing and interdisciplinary studies. She has presented the findings of her studies at national and international nursing and interdisciplinary conferences and is published in peer-reviewed, high impact nursing and interdisciplinary journals. She is also a reviewer for many nursing and interdisciplinary journals and a member of the editorial panel for different journals.
Dr. Murrock’s research interests focus on testing dance and dietary interventions to improve mental and physical health outcomes in vulnerable populations, especially those with diabetes.
