Biography

Dr. Hellme Najim received his Medical degree at Mosul University in Iraq in 1977, in 1983 Diploma in Psychological Medicine From the Conjoint Board of Physicians in England, in 1983 Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in The United Kingdom and in 2009 the Fellowship of the Royal college of Psychiatrists. He worked as a lecturer in neuropsychiatry in Mosul university in 1986 and was promoted to assistant professor in 1989. In 1993 He worked as assistant professor in neuropsychiatry in Sanaa university in Yemen. In 1996 he worked as a lecturer in the Institute of Psychiatry in London. He has been working as a consultant psychiatrist in Southessex University NHS Trust since 2000. 2012-6 He was the chairman of Transcultural Psychiatry Special Interest Group at the Royal college of Psychiatrist. He has published 35 scientific papers neuropsychiatry and related subjects. He is on the Editorial Board of the following journals. J. .International Psychiatry , J. .Schizophrenia disorder and Therapy, J. Academician Research Centre(ARC) Psychiatry. Heighpubs Depression and Anxiety . SM Journal of Family Medicine (SMJFM) and EC Neurology.


Research Interest

Dr. Najim's research focussed on Neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, Transcultural psychiatry and service provision for neuropsychiatric disorders. Liaison Psychiatry and Psychiatric manifestation of Respiratory disease.
