Dr. Mehukumar Kanadiya Is a eminent researcher in field of medicine covering area of gastroenterology, cardiology and public health. Before Coming to USA Mehul had received his MBBS degree from Sardar Patel University, India. After completing MBBS he had worked for one year as a Medical Officer in Wockhardt Hospitals, India. During these clinical experiences in India, He came across with many types of patients. These experiences made him realize that prevention is the best approach for any health related problem. So he decided to pursue MPH degree. He has completed Master of Public health from Ohio University as well. During the MPH program he was involved in many research activities. During the swine flu pandemic in November 2009, he conducted a research study among Ohio University students. A poster presentation of this research study was done at the national conference of The Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) in Washington, DC. He was part of clinical trial called ‘INSPIRE DIABETES’ initiated by Dr. Jay Shubrook, professor at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has worked on many research projects in his career. He has researched on effectiveness of metformin for the lowering risk of colorectal cancer. He has also analyzed various treatment options for Barrett’s esophagus. He also focused on health of general public through public health research. He also performed duty as an external monitor in Pulse Polio Immunization campaign in India. He likes the quotes of Albert Einstein “Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them.” His current research area of focus is upper gastrointestinal tract and digestive tract. He has published many paper and presented many poster.
