Dr Sarah Cuschieri, MD MSc (Diabetes) Pg Dip (Diabetes), earned her medical degree in 2011 from the University of Malta. She studied for a postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Diabetes Mellitus type 2 at the Cardiff University, Wales, obtaining a Distinction in both. She took up a full time academic and research career at the University of Malta in 2013. Started her PhD studies with the University of Malta in 2014 focusing on the “Burden of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2, dyglycaemia and their co-determinants in the adult population of Malta”. Since then she has published numerous papers focusing on diabetes mellitus type 2 and obesity in international journals. Her research interest is mainly diabetes mellitus type 2, obesity and their implications on the population from a public health perspective.
