Dr. Francis X. Brennan spent 8 years as a scientist with Department of Veterans Affairs, the last four with a joint appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His research focused on animal models of psychiatric conditions including addiction and was supported by grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Institute of Health, and the Fragile X Research Foundation (FRAXA). He has spent the last seven years in Industry developing novel techniques for discovery research and managing collaborative cross functional projects. He holds PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
He has published over 40 articles in peer reviewed journals, and made over 50 presentations at Regional, National and International meetings. He has also written several book chapters, co-authored a trade book, and is an inventor on three patent applications. He has reviewed manuscripts for a number of journals including Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroscience Methods, and Brain Research. He also reviewed grant proposals for the Fragile X Research Foundation and the National Science Foundation.
