Dr. Samanthila Waduthantri is a senior resident physician in the Department of ocular inflammation and immunology (uveitis), Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore. She also holds a adjunct position as a senior clinical research fellow in Singapore Eye Research Institute. She did her undergraduate medical education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She excelled in her undergraduate studies and was awarded 'Distinguished Foreign Students Scholarship' by the Ministry of Education, P.R. of China to peruse Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology. She did her houseman-ship in Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai. She completed fellowships in both Cataract and comprehensive ophthalmology and Ocular inflammation and immunology in Singapore National Eye Centre. She has been actively training residents and both international and local clinical fellows in uveitis in Singapore National Eye Centre for nearly 10 years . She has published several articles in the areas of her research interest, uveitis and dry eye in peer reviewed journals such as PLoS One and Eye. She is also a recipient of SNEC HREF Grant award. She is a member of Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology (ARVO) and Asia Pacific Intraocular Inflammation Study Group (APIISG). She also serves as a member of the editorial board in the Current updates in ophthalmology, OPR science and Clinical ophthalmology and as a scientific reviewer for several peer reviewed journals including PLoS One, International journal of ophthalmology, International journal of health & allied sciences, Medical journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil university and Current eye research.
