Dr. Natália Duarte Linhares, PhD, is a scientist with ten years of experience in Medical Genetics, Human Cytogenetics, Cell/ Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genomics and Bioinformatics. She has worked in the Cytogenetics Laboratory of the Clinical Hospital of UFMG for four years, where she was Coordinator for one year. Currently she is working as Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Laboratory of Clinical Genomics (UFMG, Medical School) where she is also the responsible cytogeneticist for patients included in DECIPHER database. Her research is focused in discover candidate variants in patients with rare genetic diseases and perform genotype/phenotype correlations, applying techniques such as Exome sequencing, Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH), karyotype, array-CGH, SNP-array, PCR, Sanger Sequencing, Immunofluorescence and Western blot. She is member of the American Society of Human Genetics and is author of several papers and communications in national and international congresses in Human Genetics, Bioinformatics, Ophthalmology and Immunology fields.
