Lucio Tonello, PhD, is Full Professor of Bio-mathematics at LUDES (Higher Education Institution) Foundation in Smart City, Malta and at LUDES Lugano campus, Switzerland and co-works with many important institutions in several countries. He is author of several scientific publications and he is creator and implementer of advanced scientific computer software. Member of leading research institutions and associations, he is often “invited speaker” in several international meetings, both scientific and educational. His most distinctive feature is the multidisciplinary approach, which he focuses on the study of brain, mind and consciousness and their related mathematical and physical models. He can apply his analytical skills using both traditional and “non-conventional” methods, such as: Artificial Intelligence, Connectionist Paradigm (i.e. Artificial Neural Network), Artificial Life, Complexity Theory, Chaos Theory, Game Theory, Fuzzy Logic, Statistical Learning, Membrane Computing, Quantum Computation.
His most significant research activity is the study of physical and bio-mathematical models of Brain, Mind and Consciousness related to Psychopathology. He is also involved in many other researches regarding the analytical approach to Human Sciences (e.g. Anthropology, Pedagogy and Criminology).
