Biography

Dr Udaya Prashant Ponangi holds Doctorates in General Medicine from JIPMER, India and Cardiology from Mumbai University, India. He later obtained FRACP, after doing a Heart Failure Fellowship in Fiona Stanley Hospital, Western Australia. He works as an Interventional Cardiologist as well as a Heart Failure Specialist at CARE Hospitals and ESI Hospitals, Hyderabad. He has published several research papers in various international journals related to multiple aspects of cardiology. He holds patents on novel applications of FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction) in collapsible tubes and also developed an innovative method of reducing no-reflow during primary angioplasty. He is also the head of clinical trials department at CARE Hospitals.
