Abstract

The use of Whatsapp in the physician-patient relationship

This article describes how the WhatsApp application is used in the pediatrics relationship, and its ethical implications with physicians at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Pediatric outpatient clinic. Data were collected in qualitative field research through Questionnaire with 4 physicians. As a result, it was observed that the situation of preferential use of Whatsapp mentioned by the doctors is the clarification of doubts (cited by 75of respondents). Among the disadvantages mentioned by the interviewees is the banalization of the medical service by the patients and 50% do not consider the use of the application ethical. We conclude that there is a lack of research on the subject addressed and regulation of the use of the application in the health area.
